* One of the comforters had a big brown stain on it * The carpet was not ever thoroughly clean - ever. * The mattresses were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. * We also were visited by a very large black bug IN our bed. I woke up with bites on one of my legs. * The pool lights were broken and no one would fix the lights!!! the maintenance man actually laughed and walked away!! There was also a foamy, greasy substance on the surface of the water. * We tried the outdoor pool that is closest to the indoor pool... same problem - broken light. In addition to the lights - the stains were rather unsightly in the outdoor pool, but we were able to get past them as the water didn't have the mystery foam floating on top. * Finally, the sight advertises and I quote "Lounge chairs and towels are conveniently provided for our hotel guests at any of the three Chattanooga hotel pools." Not true. When we went to the outdoor pool my husband had to walk back to get us towels. Yes there were chairs, but that didn't do us much good when we were getting out of the pool. * Next, outside our room... the carpet outside our room, down the hall, and in the area that overlooks the pool as well as the stairs was just plain dirty. There were crumbs and even a large pretzel that stayed there for at least two days. Small little pieces of paper and debris was all on the floor. It was very disappointing. *Finally I tried contacting the hotel for the managers email... i had to call literally 6 different #'s. I've emailed the manager.. still no reply!

Stopped off at the Station for an overnight stay during a recent Road Trip and was very impressed with the Hotel Room and Pools. We stayed at Hotel #3 which was recently renovated and has the oval pool with large water fall. The room is spacious and big enough for a family of 4. Our room had a nice balcony which overlooked the large pool. I believe that all rooms in Hotel #3 overlooks the pool, but some rooms are bigger and are suites. My family and I took a walk around the Garden and looked at the old train before we headed inside to escape the heat. The interior of the Main Lobby is impressive leaving you with a feeling of stepping back to the Victoria Era. The Station has been around for over a century and it does show the wear and tear with some of the original decor, but it's part of it's charm. I liked the Victorian Lounge and had a few drinks. The Garden is lit up at night and I saw a lot of couples walking around. My family made use of the large pool with the jacuzzi / hot tub island. The pool is great for the kids as they have several depths from 2 feet to 7 feet and a child safe area to watch you children swim. The temperature outside was well into the upper 90's and the pool and water fall was a welcome refreshment. Each Hotel has a pool and all guests can use any of the pools (1 indoor, 2 outdoor) Family ate breakfast at the Garden Restaurant! and the children were free! We had a breakfast buffet at the Garden Restaurant that was yummy. Fitness room - was like a sauna.

My husband and I were in Chattanooga just to take our 2 small children to the aquarium and children's museum. We chose to stay at the choo choo thinking that our 3 year old son would love the hotel. From the moment we pulled up on the property we questioned the quality. The neighborhood looked a bit questionable. The actual lobby wasn't horrible. It was musty smelling but it wasn't unbearable. The front desk staff was very helpful when we asked for a recommendation for a restaurant. We had planned on eating at the hotel but there was only 1 open out of the several that they advertised that they had so we chose to eat elsewhere. We went to our room in building 3. It is quite a distance from the main lobby but it wasn't a big deal for us. When we checked into our room we were very disappointed. The bed was very hard. We travel for our business and this was by far the worst. The walls were very beat up. The bathroom was not very clean. The shower curtain was too short and the SHOWER HEAD FELL OFF THE WALL while I was in it. We called the staff and they were willing to move us but after the condition of the room I was concerned for the safety of my children so we CHECKED OUT WITHIN 2 HOURS OF CHECKING IN. We went and stayed at another downtown hotel. If you expect this to be clean updated hotel do not stay here!!!!

Just got home from a stay at Chattanooga Choo Choo. We stayed in building 3. I thought the old railroad station's domed ceiling was elegant and unusual- that's where you check in. The gardens, fountains and statuary behind the station building are lovely, and unique. Unfortunately, the hotel is so run down and dirty that I would not stay there again. There is so much acreage, and 3 irreplaceable historical aspects to the property: the main domed station building, the back gardens and the trains. I imagine it could be absolutely fabulous, but in it's present condition, the hotel is awful. All the employees were very pleasant, the breakfast buffet was fine, the bed was comfortable. But, the edges of the tub were moldy & the caulking needed replacing, the plastic handle on the shower looked black under it, the rug was dirty, the glass table next to the bed needed a cleaning etc. There was an odd smell in the halls especially, acrid and unpleasant. At best, even if clean, the room was tired and old. I would like to see this hotel rejuvenated. I would like to love this hotel - after it is fixed. Please owners of this hotel - fix it up - it's a diamond in the very rough.
